Part Six of Evie's story... The finer details

I must admit I am writing this slightly later than planned but read on and you'll understand why!

We had our meeting with the venue this month. It should have happened three months before our wedding date, but it was closer to two. In fact, I counted whilst we were en-route to the venue, and we are now only 10 weeks away from our big day! Sooooo exciting!

I thought I would share with you some of my 'to-do-list' from the meeting... looking at it, it looks crazy random, but it all makes perfect sense! Here it is...

Now to anyone not planning a wedding, and even to my fiancé this list may be just the proof you need to call me crazy! However, I'm pretty sure that my fellow bride's out there will totally agree that this makes perfect sense. I'm right aren't I?!

Let me explain it...

* Choc sauce for profiteroles: This one is because we have requested extra sauce for our dessert! I like to have things written down so I can remind the venue via email later (I think I am definitely getting to that bridezilla stage, haha!) I find that reiterating what we've agreed during a meeting in a follow up email is the perfect way to make sure we are both on the same page and no small details are accidentally missed. This way I can relax knowing it's definitely in hand.

* 50/50 White Red: This one's pretty obvious! Umm... wine of course, one of the most important parts after the ceremony!

* Cupcake / Lemon Tart or Cheesecake: Now this one confused me a little in my notes and I had to think back to our conversation to remind myself! Thank goodness for writing things down! I did remember though, and it refers to our evening food! Our evening buffet comes with cupcakes however we are already having a 5-tier wedding cake so we have asked if we can have something different for the sweet option and they have very kindly said that we can - Hurrah! Now to decide what!?

*10pp tables: Easy! This is because we are having the larger tables that seat 10+ guests, however as we are having big centrepieces on the tables, ours will instead seat between 8 and 10 guests on each table instead. We are using a very talented local florist named Rosy Lea Florist, and we can't wait to see what she is creating for us! We have chosen to go extra with the flowers, they're going to look amazing!

*Hobbycraft: Okay this one I think should be on every bride's to do list! I had decided to get all of my wedding stationery made by a lovely national company, but they said they could only deliver 1-2 weeks before the wedding and I definitely can't handle the stress of that! So... I have decided to make the stationery for the day myself and I'm actually really pleased I have - it will have such a personal touch. So far, I have only made 4 place cards out of 80 so please wish me luck!

Trying to plan and match all of the 'on the day' stationery from table names, place cards, menu cards, large order of the day signs and 'welcome to the wedding' signs has been pretty time consuming, hence me not having a second to write this blog until now! Let's just hope it's all finished on time! At the moment it feels like I'll have it complete for our 50th Wedding anniversary!!!

The next blog I write will be after my hen do! My lovely girls have planned a crazy trip to Barcelona, hopefully I come back in one piece..

Love Evie xx
