Whitewed Directory Real Bride De Vere Cotswold Water Park Hotel wedding planning story

So, I am now calling January my new favourite wedding planning month by far…

It was so exciting waking up on January 1st and be able to say WERE GETTING MARRIED THIS YEAR - It's so exciting but ever so slightly daunting. I thought we were fairly organised, but my lack of invitations, bridesmaid dresses and the outstanding balance at our wedding venue reminded me of the planning still needed and brought be back to earth from my prosecco fuelled wedding excitement.

After reality hit, I gave some time to our wedding planning. I would say in the first week of January I did more planning than the whole of December put together! My invitations are on their way and they should be here by the end of February. Bridesmaid dresses have been ordered and should be delivered any day (I don’t want to give too much away, but I am going for a Pinterest style theme with my bridesmaid dresses and I can’t wait to see the effect) and lastly another payment had been made on our venue.

We've had a brilliant month and started off the year attending the Whitewed Great Western Wedding Show at the STEAM museum for some more inspiration. I highly recommend going to wedding shows, even if you think that you have everything booked and planned. They are always filled with so many suppliers and can fill you with so many extra exciting ideas, wants and inspiration! I love seeing all of the different kinds of suppliers that are showcasing.

Most exciting of all - As I am writing this, I can happily say that in less than 24 hours I am going to be trying on my official wedding dress!!!

I had the phone call from my bridal shop, Whitewed approved Trousseaux, to say my dress had arrived into store last week after being on order for the last 7 months. It's has taken an extreme amount of willpower to stop me from going every single day since, to just have a sneaky look! I hope its just as gorgeous as I remember.

Lets hope that they've allocated enough time for me to just sit in it, I reckon 4 hours should be enough (only joking)! It was the first dress i'd seriously looked at and tried on - I tried on plenty of other beautiful dresses from them just to make sure it really was 'the one', which it was. I loved it so much that I ordered my dress before I had a wedding date or venue booked!

I truly believe that you can have any dress for any venue, it should be the one that you fall in love with and everything else will fit around it. Please don’t worry about going to try on wedding dresses either. It has been the best experience so far, and the bridal stores will make you feel so comfortable just like mine did.

It looks like the procrastinating and Christmas/New Year excitement has stopped and my wedding planning journey is well under way, and will be continuing into February. Let's hope that by the time you are reading this I'm not still sat in Trousseaux wearing my dress and trying on jewellery for fun!!
