I met with Kim & Tony last year before they were even engaged! I had worked on a few weddings before that, Kim had seen my work and she liked my collections enough to ask me to do hers! I of course said yes, and I couldn’t wait to get started on the whole project!
Kim & Tony wanted a rustic wood effect but with a soft feeling to it, incorporating some floral aspect to match the bouquets. I therefore added some soft blush watercolour floral arrangements to elements of the invitation and they were delighted with them.
The full invitation collection included the Main invite, Information Card, RSVP & Envelope Liner. Each invitation was individually wrapped with a belly band including each guest's name on - this was a really great way to make it even more personal!
In keeping with everything I do for each of my couples, I included an emblem of their initials. As you can see here, I intertwined the T&K onto each element - it makes every couple's stationery unique and a finishing touch that they just love!
This is my favourite part…helping the whole wedding room come alive! Each individual piece of stationery is carefully thought about and designed around each couple, knowing what they love and want to achieve on their special day. We stuck to the original concept of the invitations to create these final bits and used the wooden texture and blush watercolour floral elements. It really does capture everyone’s attention as they can instantly recognise the theme from their invitations and it gives a fluency across the collection from start to finish.
Kim & Tony had a number of different stationery elements at their wedding which included: A1 Table Plan Board, A1 'Welcome to the Wedding' Board, Name Cards, Table Name Cards, Wedding Advice Cards, Tags for the Bridesmaids, ‘Take a Treat’ Signage and Thank you Cards.
It is very important that each item matches the venue's character, and of course the theme each couple has chosen. The designs for Kim & Tony worked perfectly to fit in with the rustic earthy character of their venue, Kingscote Barn.
Kim & Tony really thought about the styling throughout their venue, and made sure it all worked seamlessly and collaboratively together. They dressed the room so beautifully with hessian bows, wooden blocks and brown paper bags which worked so well against the original brickwork. They made sure that the stationery I was creating for them would tie all the different elements together, which is why my job is so important & exciting! The stationery is so often the finer detail which gels all of the larger elements together.
The small touches really matter with ‘on the day’ stationery, such as keeping the T&K running throughout. It makes it more personal to the couple, and even the guests too as it makes them feel more connected I think. From the colours to the textures, the font to the layout, each individual design is key to making everything sing in harmony.
My favourite part about this wedding had to be the relaxed feel of everything, as it felt very homely and warm which matched the couple perfectly and highlighted their personality as well as their relationship which is what I adore doing!
There is no greater feeling than seeing all your hard work come together, and how happy you have made a Bride & Groom on their wedding day.
