Real Wedding: Nick & Chloe at Eynsham Hall, Oxfordshire
Your wedding day is one of the biggest days of your lives and finding a photographer to capture it perfectly for you to share, treasure and look back upon can be over-whelming. What’s key is knowing exactly what your want from your photographs, a photographer whose style will match this and most importantly a relationship with your photographer that will enable you to be at ease and enjoy your day whilst they catch all those most important shots for you.
This Real Wedding has been sent in by Clare of Barefoot Photography, a talented photographer who loves to get a mix of informal, natural and posed wedding photographs that tell the story of your day. This real wedding is a perfect example of when a couple ‘click’ with their photographer just as you should. Clare was able to help her couple relax in front of the camera, trust her with capturing their wedding day whilst having fun and laughter along the way.
Here, Clare tells us the story of Nick and Chloe’s Wedding day at the beautiful Eynsham Hall in Oxfordshire...
“From the moment we met I knew this was going to be a special wedding. Nick and Chloe treasure every second they get together - with Nick away at sea for most of the year, their time together is precious.
Their pre-wedding shoot was so much fun! Their large Labrador puppy joined in and he was bouncy and boisterous and almost floored me more than once - we all went home wearing muddy paw prints and huge smiles! This was my first chance to meet the Groom Nick, and although I knew he was nervous in front of the camera we were soon laughing and had a great afternoon. I think finishing the afternoon in a pub to go over the shoot list was the ideal way to get to know each other!
The wedding day was amazing. We had a glorious summer's day at the beautiful Eynsham Hall and their outdoor ceremony was simply gorgeous. During the signing of the register, children started blowing bubbles and I think they look great in the photographs - so natural and unstuffy, just like the Bride and Groom.
Summer weddings can be hard work for a bride - Chloe was so hot in her dress but she didn't let it show. In between photographs I made sure she had cold drinks and wafted her skirt to give her a chance to cool down a little. I always carry sunscreen for summer weddings and keep watching for signs of sunburn and heat stroke. It is so tempting to stay out in the sun but finding shade is vital to stay comfortable. Keeping cooler also helps your make up last longer - who doesn't want to look their best?
When you have a beautiful venue and a very hot day it makes sense to take photographs after dark when it is cooler. I always carry lights and love this time of day - couples are more relaxed and the photographs look more natural. I think these night time images are a great way to finish a wedding album or slideshow.
The morning after their wedding I sent over a sneak peek and was delighted to get a message from Nick saying 'Just amazing Clare. Thank you so much for yesterday. I’m still in the clouds today. We loved every second. No question we were so fortunate to have you as our photographer yesterday. Xx’”
Wow.. what a beautiful wedding, couple and working relationship between a couple and their photographer! Clare really connected with Nick and Chloe, understanding them as a couple thus delivering enviable photographs that will no doubt tell their story of their wedding day for years to come.
The Groom’s message following their wedding day is a true measure of this photography success – well done Barefoot Photography!
