Eco Friendly Styled Shoot at Church Farm

With the increased impetus for us all to do what we can to help the environment, myself and a number of other local suppliers recently decided that we wanted to undertake an eco-themed styled shoot to inspire engaged couples. It all started when we decided that we wanted to showcase the amazing dresses that are held by the bridal boutique in Oxfam. It isn't necessarily the first place most people would think to look when it comes to finding a wedding dress but with a huge variety of second-hand and end-of-line dresses (many from recognisable designers) on offer, we wanted to throw a spotlight on how varied their range can be. We were completely spoiled for choice when it came to choosing which dresses to photograph so we opted for a variety of styles, from fairytale gowns to tea-dresses and lots of others in between!

One of our aims was to show how versatile the dresses could be and, in total, we managed to photograph eight different "looks", each and every one unique. We photographed classic traditional styles teamed with veils, tiaras and high heels as well as festival-inspired looks with flower-headpieces and leather jackets which had been up-cycled to fit in with the eco-theme.

It was amazing to see all of the final "looks" coming together. From the hair and make-up to the bouquets, flower head-pieces and jackets. We had chosen a beautiful local venue primarily because it specialises in eco-weddings but, I have to say, it was the perfect location! For every dress that we photographed we managed to find a new and unique backdrop which made it look like we were in a completely new location (in reality we had only walked a few metres!). Plans are already afoot for shoot number 2…!
